Monel pipe fittings Stockiest

Monel Pipe Fitting Manufacturers are used in pipe systems to connect straight pipe or tubing sections. The main use of Monel Pipe Fitting is to make the pipe or the tube adaptable to different sizes or shapes. Monel Pipe Fitting at Om Tubes are also used for other purposes such as regulating or measuring fluid flow. The term plumbing is generally used to describe conveyance of water, gas, or liquid waste in ordinary domestic or commercial environments, whereas piping is often used to describe high-performance conveyance of fluids in specialized applications. The term tubing is sometimes used for lighter-weight piping, especially types that are flexible enough to be supplied in coiled form. Om Tubes being Monel Pipe Fittings Stockiests Suppliers provides you with the best quality & services.

Monel alloys are high tensile strength alloys with appreciable resistance to corrosion. They are made of nickel copper composition. Monel can be hardened only by cold working. It exhibits high strength and toughness over a wide temperature range. It also offers excellent resistance to many corrosive environments. Due to its industrial properties it is widely used in many industries. It is used in making pumps; pump and propeller shafts; chemical processing equipment; marine fixtures and fasteners; electrical and electronic components; gasoline and fresh water tanks;  springs; crude petroleum stills, process vessels and piping; boiler feedwater heaters and other heat exchangers; and deaerating heaters. It is primarily composed of 67% of nickel and some amount of copper, with small amounts of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon. It shows resistance to rapid sea water. Welding is also used in its fabrication.

It is a solid solution binary alloy. Different than others it is single phase alloy which makes it very difficult to machine as it work-hardens very quickly. It needs to be turned and worked at slow speeds and low feed rates. It has the ability to withstand a fire in pure oxygen. It is much more expensive than stainless steel.

It has specific gravity of 8.80 with melting range of 1300-1350 °C. At subzero temperatures Monel alloys show excellent mechanical properties. Only ductility or impact resistance is affected on increasing the strength and hardness. Monel has contrasting properties compared to many ferrous materials which are brittle at low temperatures despite their increased strength. Monel 401, Monel 404, Monel 450, Monel 500, Monel 4050 are some of the famous Monel alloys.

  • Monel is highly resistant to corrosion. It is well known as a corrosion strong, rust-resistant material.
  • Monel alloy is stronger than steel hence it is preferred as a raw material to make pipes and fittings.
  • Malleable in nature.
  • It has low coefficient of thermal expansion
  • Highly resistant to alkalis

It can be welded, brazed and soldered.
